Let’s talk a little bit about misconceptions of the ABDL community. Unfortunately, many outside of our wonderful diapered world have too many misconceptions about what exactly our world involves. I wish I could just write to everyone and help them listen. To see what we aren’t as bad as some people seem to think.

What exactly are the misconceptions I’m talking about?

Those in the ABDL community are not interested in sexual contact with minors

This is probably one that I hate the most. Where did such a wonderful, happy community get this crazy idea from? We are simply interested in feeling cared for, loved, and like the feeling like that of children. We like the comfort that diapers bring and all things that go with it. It’s harmless, comforting, and enjoyable for all of us!

That those who wear diapers or are a part of the ABDL community do it for sexual reasons.

While there are some who get sexual gratification from diapers, for most of us it goes much deeper than that. The emotional response for me is what it truly is all about. The comfort and feeling of innocence that goes along with being diapered is truly what makes me love the ABDL community. The community in itself is so excepting and loving, how can you not want to be a part?

That those in the ABDL community are all “FREAKS.”

I can’t tell you how much I hate the world FREAKS. I’ve heard it all my life in some way or another and its beyond frustrating. Why is it that when someone is different or enjoys something different that get that awful label? The truth is those like me who are a part of the ABDL community just want to feel LOVE. They want to feel like they belong somewhere and they want to be taken care of. For someone like me it is a necessity, but I still long for that feeling of being cared for and the innocence.

That the ABDL community is dominated by males.

No hate to the wonder males of the ABDL community, but many times females are overlooked. Many believe that males dominate the community but I can’t tell you how many times women have reached out to me who are in all different walks of life. I do think many of the women in the community often aren’t as outspoken, but they are there and there are a good number of them! There are even many other professional women like me a part of the ABDL community and that makes me so happy!

Like with any community or anything that to others may seem “different” there are many misconceptions. I hope that just like with anything that people can step back and realize that we are all the same in many ways, we want love, to be cared for, and to feel happy. If we have something that gives us all those things then that’s something worth keeping!
